In honor of the dog days of summer, it seemed only appropriate to focus on our furry friends and all of the ways pet parents use our white noise machines. And as always, actual words from our customers tell the story best. I mean, “recreational barking” – does that not strike a chord (or maybe an I-love-you-to-furballs-but-sometimes-you-annoy-the-heck-out-of-me nerve) with dog owners everywhere?
You’ve heard it over and over again… the famous saying “don’t go to bed mad.” It makes sense, right? Life is too short to leave things unsaid. Why wait until the morning to resolve your issues, when you can resolve it before bed and have a peaceful slumber? Well, research shows that sometimes it’s okay to go to bed mad. Sometimes in fact, it’s the best decision!
I spend a lot of time thinking about sleep. It's my job. And beyond that, I'm a true believer: I went from not sleeping very well and dismissing it with an "I guess it's just the way I am, and I'm not really interested in taking sleeping pills" to appreciating the delicious feeling of waking well-rested. The first time it happened was a revelation. I felt AH-MAZING, and immediately became jealous of my husband, who apparently wakes up feeling that great all the time.
This April marks the release of Arianna Huffington’s “The Sleep Revolution.” In it, the Huffington Post editor in chief dishes some hard-won wisdom on the importance of sleep in the master plan for your self-actualization, health and happiness.
The holidays (aka Houseguest Season) can be a stressful time for anyone. It doesn’t matter how much you love your mother-in-law or how absolutely adorable your cousin’s little munchkins are – sharing space is hard, especially when it’s yours. Our suggestion: when it comes to being the host or hostess with the most-est, focus less on fluffy white towels and more on soothing white noise. Here’s why:
The best white noise is similar to the best diet or the best kind of exercise – basically, it’s whatever works best for you. That being said, we’ve learned a thing or two in over fifty years of listening to sound machines (and listening to our customers!), so here are a few truths which may be helpful.
Our Dohm sound machine has long been a “must have” for moms. People generally understand that white noise is soothing for babies, and ANYthing that could help promote sleep is worth its weight in gold – but there’s a lot more to it than that. Here are the less-obvious reasons you’ll love having a sound machine.
The outstanding quality of Marpac white noise machines is no accident. We don't often toot our own horns - (it's just not very becoming, and we ARE Southerners, after all...) - but we believe that it's important to share what makes our sound machines so special, because it says a lot about what you can expect from our products and our company when you honor us with your purchase.
At Marpac, we’re all about love. We want to help you love how you sleep, love how you feel, and love how you live. We love that our customers love us. We especially love the reviews that say things like “Love, love, love!” (yes, really). We love our jobs. We even love each other. It’s a little bit disgusting, honestly. But hey, when you’re working with good people who get enough sleep, it’s easy to love them!
We like to say that “our customers say it best.” What we mean by this: our marketing department is pretty lazy, and they just put user reviews all over the place instead of coming up with new things to say. (Kidding, of course...J) Here’s what we REALLY mean by this: we have some incredibly passionate customers, and the things they say about our products are so authentically, genuinely complimentary that we feel it’s best to just let their reviews speak for themselves.
White noise is not just the sound of static on a TV, or a euphemism for something that bores you to the point of zoning out. White noise has a purpose in life – and probably even in YOUR life! In fact, it could be the answer to problems you haven't even articulated.
